Success Stories
Working with the National Science Resources Center, our staff was instrumental in creating the effective and successful Science and Technology for Children® (STC®) program. Developed and tested by teachers, STC® is an inquiry-based elementary science curriculum that engages students in hands-on learning.
Wisconsin Fast Plants teaching materials were developed in association with the University of Wisconsin. They address all aspects of plant biology while providing hands-on learning opportunities for students. They are another example of the benefits of our collaborative approach.

From its founding in 1927 by Dr. Thomas E. Powell, Jr., Carolina Biological Supply Company has been dedicated to a collaborative approach. A professor at Elon College (now Elon University), Dr. Powell collected natural specimens for his class and discovered that he could sell the surplus to other teachers and professors. He soon realized that a collaborative approach, with his company providing the centralized collection and distribution of educational products, would free teachers to make better use of their time in the classroom and laboratory.
